Betawave (RETIRED)

Perhaps one of Robyn’s most rewarding experiences developing a young horse is that with American-bred Holsteiner mare Betawave, fondly known in the barn as Leta. Leta came to Robyn in 2012 as a 3-year-old whose natural athleticism paired with her extreme sensitivity and strong opinions made her a force to be reckoned with. Over her 4 and 5-year-old years Leta proved extremely difficult, but Robyn did not give up. As a 6-year-old Robyn made the decision to take all the pressure off of Leta and instead simply allow the mare to enjoy her job. Only one year later, the patience required for this decision paid off as Leta had cultivated an immense amount of confidence increasingly reflected in her results. After winning the CCI2* in Colorado in 2016 Robyn and Leta went on to compete overseas in the 7-year-old FEI World Championships at Le Lion d’Angers in France. In 2017, Leta won her debut competition at the Advanced level and Robyn found herself back at the top level of the sport with a mare that at one time seemed an unlikely partner. The homebred mare continues to step up to the plate with every challenge that she is confronted with.

2017: 3^rd place in the CIC3* at Twin Rivers in April

2017: 4^th place in the Advanced division at Copper Meadows Winter Horse Trials

2017: 1^st place in the Advanced division at Fresno County Horse Park in February

2017:  CCI** Champion and the Intermediate Reserve Champion

2016: Finished in the top half of the 6-Year-Old World Finals at Mondial du Lion in France

2016: 2^nd place in Open Intermediate at Coconino Summer I Horse Trials 

2016: 1st Place at the CCI2* at Colorado Horse Park

2016: 2nd Place in Open Intermediate at Fresno County Horse Park

2015: Preliminary Holsteiner Horse of the Year and Reserve Champion for the CCI* level

2015: 1st Place in Open Intermediate at Fresno County Horse Park in October

2015: 2nd Place in Open Preliminary on a score of 22 at Fresno County Horse Part in February.
